Spotlight: Storms Could Delay Crop Deliveries in Spring

The California Farm Bureau says the wave of storms hitting the state will delay some vegetable plantings in Salinas Valley and Southern California. That could lead to a gap in supplies during the spring as lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower and celery may mature later than usual, the Farm Bureau said. The Farm Bureau also reported that strawberry growers in Orange and Ventura counties don’t expect significant losses from the current rains, which have severely lashed nearly every region of the state.
