The Cal State Fullerton forum for education discussed the recruitment of teachers but missed an important source of highly qualified personnel--thousands of unemployed engineers and scientists in Orange County.
Instead of interviewing applicants in Spain, Canada and Mexico, the employment job fairs should focus on older high-tech specialists within a 50-mile radius. Some of these technical experts have more expertise and even more teaching experience than many of our present-day educators.
