Spotlight: Orange County to Be Featured on Credit Card

Three and a half years after Orange County suffered the biggest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, it’s become one of just a handful of areas to be featured on a credit card. First USA plans to launch a MasterCard depicting either an aerial shot of Newport Beach, the Anaheim Convention Center or Dana Point surf in July. “If people enjoy living in Orange County and want to show it, this is a good vehicle,” said a spokesman for the Wilmington, Del., bank. Orange County is the nation’s third-wealthiest metropolitan area.
