I was intrigued to read Nancy Spiller’s article on Tuscany (“Ripe Time for Tuscany,” Sept. 20). However, I was flabbergasted to find that a woman who lives in California found it necessary to go to Italy to discover the undeniable high that comes from eating food and drinking wine born of the same soil. Pleeeease! California is filled with wonderful produce.
