Facilities Open for Late Voters Registration

In order to accommodate those who have yet to register but wish to vote in the Nov. 3 elections, locations throughout Los Angeles will be staying open late this weekend so people can meet the Monday midnight deadline.
Two Rubio’s restaurants in the Valley will be taking late-hour registrations. At the Encino Town Center, 17200 Ventura Blvd., election workers will be accept registrations at Rubio’s from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. today and Sunday.
Election workers at Rubio’s Baja Grill at 19500 Plummer St. in Northridge will accept registrations today from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The main U.S. Postal Service branch at 7001 Central Ave. in Los Angeles will be open 24 hours this weekend.
The Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office in Norwalk, 12400 Imperial Highway, will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday. On Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., forms can be dropped off until midnight in a collection box in the lobby.
To be eligible to vote, an individual must be a United States citizen, 18 years or older by election day and a California resident. Also, anyone who changes their place of residence or party affiliation must register again.
Individuals in prison or out on parole for a felony conviction and those who are deemed mentally incompetent by an appropriate court are not eligible to vote, according to the registrar and clerk’s office.
