Police Officers Get 2.1% Salary Increase

The City Council has given members of its Police Department a raise.

Officers received a 2.1% raise and sergeants received a 3.3% raise, said city Personnel Director Donna Peter.

The top monthly salary for an officer is $4,510 and for a sergeant is $5,686, she said.

The salary increase for the city’s 59-member police force will cost the city about $110,000 annually, Peter said.

The raises were part of a wage increase negotiated in 1996 between the city and the Manhattan Beach Police Assn.
