Preliminary designs for a new community center in Plummer Park will be available for public comment at a special meeting of the city Public Facilities Commission tonight.
The building project involves remodeling an existing 7,000-square-foot building and building a new one of up to 21,000 square feet, said Sam Baxter, landscape and building maintenance manager.
Construction on the $3.5-million project is expected to begin in about a year.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in Fiesta Hall at Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd. Information: (323) 848-6396.
