* Cadence Design Systems Inc., provider of electronic design automation software, and an employee of Avant Corp. said they have settled a defamation lawsuit for undisclosed terms. As part of the resolution, Cadence and Avant have agreed to remove any reference to the employee, Yang Trung Lin, in Cadence’s civil suit against Avant that charges it with stealing trade secrets.
