Condo Resident Drowns in Hot Tub

A man in his 60s was found dead Thursday after apparently drowning in a hot tub at a Northridge condominium complex, authorities said.

The man, whose identity was not immediately available, was found at the condominium complex in the 11400 block of Tampa Avenue around 4:30 p.m., said Jim Wells, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“The neighbor saw him go into the Jacuzzi,” Sgt. Steve Savala. “A half-hour later, he found him floating face down in the hot tub.”

Neighbors told police the dead man had a history of heart trouble, Savala said.

There was no evidence of trauma or foul play, Savala said.
