Venus, Jupiter and Saturn are about equally spaced in the evening sky. Venus is visible above the southwestern horizon for the half-hour after sunset. Jupiter is brilliant and lies higher and to the east of Venus. Fainter Saturn is a similar distance east of Jupiter. All three planets are slowly moving eastward. Next month, Venus will catch and pass Jupiter, and next year Jupiter will pass Saturn.
