Mobil Adds 2 Sites in State to 5-Star List

TIMES STAFF AND WIRES

Two California institutions--The French Laundry restaurant in Yountville and the Inn & Links at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach--were added to the Mobil Travel Guide’s five-star list for 1999, issued last week. Only two restaurants in the state--the other is L’Orangerie in Los Angeles--made the guide’s highest rating, but there are now six five-star lodgings in California, more than any other state (New York has five). The formerly five-star Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel was rated a four-star this year.
