The City Council recently submitted an application for a $25,000 grant for a tire recycling program. The money is available to divert tires from landfills and earmarked to encourage local government programs. The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency’s application seeks the $25,000 to install rubber surfacing at Santiago Park and Santa Anita Park playgrounds.
