Re “Island Infestation Can’t Be Eradicated, Expert Says,” June 11: Following the report of the demise of the island fox on San Miguel Island, we now have infected mice on the island. Thanks to our overly zealous custodians of the island who destroyed all the ice plant. The ice plant housed the mice. The mice fed the foxes. The foxes survived. It’s not nice to fool around with Mother Nature.
