Goodwill Trip to Russia

Teenagers from throughout the country left Thursday for Moscow to begin a goodwill trip to Russia. Two of them, both 16, will represent the First Congregational Church of Long Beach; they are Tim Taylor of Wilson High School and Meghan Ramsay of Cerritos High. The two were recognized June 13 at a special church service.

The Americans will join with Russian teenagers in building a soccer and field hockey complex in Moscow, adjacent to Russia’s first teen crisis center.

They will visit the historic cathedral and museum of the Dmitrov Kremlin, as well as several sites in and around Moscow including Sergei Pasat, home of the Orthodox patriarch. They will return to the U.S. on July 5 after a stopover in Amsterdam and a tour of the Anne Frank Museum.
