Auto Workers Join Gore Bandwagon

The Iowa United Auto Workers Union endorsed Vice President Al Gore in the second show of support from organized labor in recent days for the Democrat’s White House bid in 2000. The endorsements, announced in Des Moines, give Gore the organizational muscle of the biggest players in the state’s labor movement, an important asset for Iowa’s caucuses. Gore was earlier endorsed by Iowa’s largest government worker union.
