LAGUNA NIGUEL

Taking a different approach to encourage reading, a number of parents of children at Marian Bergeson Elementary School have volunteered to visit classrooms and read their favorite children’s book to students and share their thoughts on literature.

The weeklong activity starts Monday, and students will have a chance to compete in a short story competition. The winner will have the story published in the school paper and the chance to attend a writer’s workshop. Information: (949) 489-7391.
