* “Beyond the Headlines” will be the theme of a breakfast for the Greater Oxnard Chamber of Commerce from 7:15 to 9 a.m. Thursday at the Residence Inn by Marriott, 2101 W. Vineyard Ave., Oxnard. The guest speaker will be Mike Saliba, president of the Ventura County Taxpayers Assn.

* An all-day workshop on “Small Business Banking and Finance,” sponsored by the Ventura County chapter of the Service Corps of Retired Executives, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Oxnard College, 4000 S. Rose Ave. The workshop is the fourth in a series of five.

* Applications for exhibitors are being accepted for the Simi Valley Street Fair, to be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 22 at the corner of Galena Avenue and Cochran Street.
The sponsor is the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The cost for exhibit space is $150 for chamber members, $300 for nonmembers and $100 for a nonprofit organization. Make reservations at 526-3900.
