The preliminary hearing of eight young men allegedly involved in the fatal New Year’s Eve shooting of Anaheim resident Judah Seelke, 20, will continue on Wednesday at the North Justice Center in Fullerton. Two of the eight suspects are from Placentia: Jose Deanda, 20, and Ronnie Cruz, 19.
In an unrelated case, the preliminary hearing to determine whether two Placentia juveniles will be tried as adults in connection with the fatal shooting of Jason Segovia, 15, will be held Nov. 12 at the Lamoreaux Justice Center in Orange.
Segovia was in the back seat of a parked car with three other passengers in the 800 block of Tafolla Street when two men rode up on bicycles and sprayed the car with bullets, police said. The other passengers were not injured.
