Ice Dogs Win in Shootout

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Marcel Cousineau stopped all four shots he faced in the Ice Dogs’ first shootout of the IHL season as they slipped past the Kansas City Blades, 3-2, before 4,843 at Kemper Arena.

Cousineau, who made 39 saves in the game, improved to 5-1-0, while the Ice Dogs (5-4-0) picked up their fourth victory in five games.

Wes Walz and Len Barrie both scored in the shootout for the Ice Dogs, who improved to 2-1-0 on the road. Frederick Jobin and Nils Ekman each scored goals in the third period for the Ice Dogs.

Dave Chyzowski tied the contest at 2-2 with less than three minutes remaining for Kansas City (1-3-2).
