Santa Paula 26, Calabasas 13--Morgan Montoya ran 11 yards for a touchdown to spark the Cardinals on their first play from scrimmage at Santa Paula.

Johnny Mata returned a Calabasas punt 32 yards to set up the score. Santa Paula quarterback Chad Metelak connected with Steve Gangl for a 21-yard touchdown pass to give Santa Paula (5-3, 1-1) a 13-0 halftime lead.

Metelak completed six of 12 passes for 53 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He scored on a one-yard run midway through the third quarter to increase the Cardinals’ lead to 19-0.

Calabasas (2-5, 1-1) was led by running back Michael Armacost, who rushed for 86 yards in 18 carries with one touchdown.

Santa Paula outrushed Calabasas, 266-131. Coyote quarterback Justin Fenchel completed four of 12 passes for 99 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
