Taking Her Back to Texas

The cover of your special travel issue March 19, “Technicolor Texas” (photograph by Adam Jones), sent me back in memory nearly 50 years. Southwest Texas was in a drought. What a change by 1959! After years of rain, that whole part of Texas was a sea of wildflowers. The sight and wonder of it has stayed with me all these years. Not even in 35 years in California have I seen such a display, and it was all by nature’s hand.
