La Habra High School has received $56,000 in grants from the state Department of Education to start a business program for students.
School officials will launch the Highlander Marketing and Business Academy next school year, offering business and marketing classes to business-minded high school students.
The academy will begin with a program exclusively for sophomores and will expand to incorporate the junior and senior grade levels each successive year until the full three-year academy is in place.
When complete, the business academy will be funded annually with $82,000 in federal money, said Keston Blake, project director and a La Habra High School teacher.
