Guitar Center Reports Quarterly Net Increase

Guitar Center Inc. of Agoura Hills reported net income of $4.1 million in the second quarter ended June 30, compared with a net loss of $149,000 for the same period last year. Revenue rose to $178.6 million from $139.2 million.
Guitar Center sells guitars, amplifiers, drums, keyboards and recording equipment through 74 retail outlets, and over the Internet through its subsidiary Musician’s Friend Inc.
