Ten stumps now stand where tall eucalyptus trees used to bring shady relief from the hot summer sun to the Woodbridge Parkway homes of Fran Moore and Lee Lingle.
“This is not the home I bought,” Moore said Thursday.
The two women took their plight before the board meeting of the Woodbridge Village Assn. on Wednesday night.
Moore and Lingle have petitioned the association to replace the trees, which were cut down in early June.
But Collette Sfreddo, president of the Parkway neighborhood’s board of directors, said some of the trees had been infested with red gum lerp psyllid, a harmful insect.
Officials for Parkway, which includes 301 homes, said they would put the issue on the agenda for the Aug. 17 board meeting.
