Baldy, Waterman Resorts Are Finally Set to Open

Mt. Baldy, barren and all but deserted all winter, is set to open for skiing Saturday after receiving up to 12 inches of snow on the upper slopes. Baldy expects to open three chairs.

The Big Bear resorts got only a couple of inches at the base elevations but about 12 inches on top.

In Wrightwood, Mountain High got up to eight inches of natural snow and, like the Big Bear resorts, has been blowing snow. Four chairs will service 16 trails.
