Analysts Upgrade, Add Retail Stocks

Several battered retail stocks got new coverage or upgrades Monday from Wall Street analysts, including:

* American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (AEOS; $23.06, up 56 cents) was rated “strong buy” in new coverage by Southcoast Capital, with a $50 target. The stock is 61% off its 52-week peak.

* Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. (PSUN; $24.16, up $2.28) was raised to “strong buy” from “buy” by Banc of America Securities, with a $37 target. The stock is 34% off its peak.

* Webvan Group Inc. (WBVN; $12.50, down 6 cents) was rated “buy” in new coverage by J.C. Bradford & Co. The stock has slid 63% from its peak.
