Re “Embattled Orange County Veterinarian Quits Post,” Jan. 5:
Veterinarian Richard Evans killed cats by injecting barbiturates into their livers. Anyone who has ever had a liver biopsy can tell you that it is one of the most painful procedures there is. Imagine this man poking around trying to find the liver of a fully-conscious cat no doubt screaming in agony. If I did this, or if my neighborhood vet did this, we’d be charged with animal cruelty, fined and put in jail. Will the same happen to Evans?
