Health Care Agency officials are developing a new inspection checklist as the result of concerns by ethnic-restaurant owners that the agency did not take into consideration traditional food preparation and storage when giving warnings and citations.
At a meeting held Thursday among owners, city and county health officials, it was agreed that further discussion was needed about possible modifications to food regulations that could accommodate cultural preferences. City officials agreed to host public workshops, with dates to be announced, with health department officials and to help resolve differences.
