New Horizons Worldwide Inc.:

The rapidly growing Santa Ana provider of computer training reported strong gains in net income and revenue for the second quarter.

New Horizons, which has 251 training centers in 45 countries, said net income rose 28% to $3.2 million, or 31 cents a share, from $2.5 million, or 25 cents a share, in the second quarter last year. Revenue climbed 31% to $36.6 million. Sales at centers open at least a year rose 20.2%, the largest quarterly increase since 1998, the company said.

The stock, which has more than doubled over the last year, closed Wednesday at $23.94 a share, up 69 cents, in Nasdaq trading.
