The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to participate in Orange County’s Traffic Violator Apprehension Program, which involves setting up random vehicle checkpoints to target unlicensed drivers and people driving with suspended licenses.
The license checkpoints will most likely be conducted in high-accident areas at times other than holidays, officials said.
The two-year program is funded by a $381,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
