Usually the site of concerts and basketball and hockey games, Philadelphia’s First Union Center has been made over for the Republican convention. A new stage, special podium and miles of electrical wiring and cable have prepared the site for the onslaught of an estimated 45,000 delegates, media and other convention-goers.
