El Camino Real 10, Taft 0--Josh Deneau (1-0) allowed one hit and struck out five in his first start this season for El Camino Real in a West Valley League game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
Polo Gomez had two hits, four runs batted in and scored twice for the Conquistadores (7-2, 2-0).
Gomez had a three-run double in the second to give El Camino Real a 5-0 lead and a run-scoring single in the third for a 9-0 advantage.
Chatsworth 8, Birmingham 1--Brett Munson had three hits, including a double, and Joe Guntz (3-0) struck out five and allowed five hits for Chatsworth (7-1-1, 2-0) in a West Valley League game at Birmingham.
Jose Carrillo of Birmingham (5-4, 0-2) had two hits, including his first home run. Reliever Pat Roark struck out five and gave up one run in 5 2/3 innings.
The Chancellors hit six doubles and Jacob Ball hit a triple.
Granada Hills 9, Cleveland 8--Ryan Braun scored from second base on a two-out error by third baseman Nick Arroyo in the bottom of the seventh in a West Valley League game.
Mike Goodman had three hits and three RBIs for Granada Hills (5-4, 1-1).
Cleveland scored four unearned runs on six errors.
Monroe 13, Van Nuys 10--Dennis King had four hits, five RBIs and scored a run for host Monroe (3-7. 1-1) in a Valley Mission League game.
King’s bases-loaded triple in the fifth broke a 5-5 tie. He smashed a two-run triple in the sixth.
Abel Pulido had four hits and three RBIs for Van Nuys (4-6, 1-1).
Sylmar 15, Reseda 0--Senior right-hander Ivan Lopez (3-1) threw a no-hitter and struck out eight for host Sylmar in a Valley Mission League game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
The Spartans (6-3, 2-0) rallied for seven hits in a seven-run fourth to take a 12-0 lead.
Alvaro Santos, Mario Campana and Eddie Camacho each had two hits.
