The Lake Forest maker of data communications products reported a net loss of $1.2 million, or 10 cents a share, for the first quarter, compared with net income of $400,000, or 4 cents a share, a year ago. The first-quarter loss included noncash costs of about $290,000 for a variety of items, including granting options and warrants, and investing in technology. Sales declined 24% to $2.9 million.
