The most famous ears of the 20th century are the one that Vincent van Gogh severed and the two pointed ones that Leonard Nimoy wore playing Mr. Spock on “Star Trek.” The actor paid homage to the painter by writing “Vincent,” a play based on Van Gogh’s letters to his brother Theo. Jim Jarrett plays both brothers in this one-man show, which also uses projections of 100 Van Gogh paintings.

* “Vincent,” by Leonard Nimoy, at Plummer Auditorium, 201 E. Chapman Ave., Fullerton. One night only. 8 p.m. $20-$25. (714) 278-3371.
