True Gifts

During the holiday season, so many people are spending, buying and worrying about what to buy. Why don’t we slow down with the gifts a little and give a real gift? Schools around the Valley are seeking mentors, local parks need help in many ways and hospitals are seeking volunteers.

For the past couple of months I have had a very rewarding experience by helping students improve their reading skills. At times it’s challenging, but when I see one of my pupils read a whole book, laugh or say “thanks,” I feel the greatest sense of satisfaction. The best gift I have ever given isn’t material, it’s educational.
