Re “The U.S. Constitution Says We All Have to Live With Being Offended,” Commentary, July 18: As a citizen and an ex-serviceman who is often unhappy with what our government does, I strongly resent any desecration of our flag. I say to those who have a beef: Write, speak out and/or vote against what you don’t like, but treat our flag with respect; too many have worked and suffered and died to protect what it stands for. Congress should pass the flag protection amendment.
