It wasn’t the kind of keepsake Scalabrine wanted, but he does have a memento from the game--a nasty knot on the side of his head. The bump started as a welt, then seemed to grow by the minute.

“You see that?” he said. “That’s that one foul where they didn’t call anything. Seriously, I tried a shot, I got it back and I shot it again.”

Scalabrine was asked why the officials didn’t make a call, even though he clearly was hammered on his put-back attempt. He simply pointed at the SC on his sweat pants and smiled.
