Challenge to Evolution

Re “Enlisting Science to Find the Fingerprints of a Creator,” March 25: Self-described intelligent design “theorists” decry evolutionary theory as a byproduct of “narrow scientism.” The irony is that the intelligent design contingent consists almost exclusively of fundamentalist Christians. In contrast, the mainstream scientific community comprises Jews, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus and atheists. “Narrow scientism”? Would that intelligent design theory were as ecumenical.
