Leadership Vacuum

* Robert L. Borosage eloquently paints a picture of our dilemma (“Thank You, Mr. President, May I Have Another?” Opinion, March 25). It has been 30 to 40 years since the Democratic Party was a coalition of passionate people who cared for the rights of women, the rights of minorities, the rights of the disadvantaged, the rights of children--and all of it as we also began our stewardship of the planet. We’re a whole lot older and have not only lost touch with one another but it is a different world out there now. As a dismayed voter who watched an election coup with a sense of powerlessness, I wonder who is going to pick up the banner and lead us back to sanity?
