Cheaper Housing Needed

Regarding “Vital Jobs Priced Out of Housing,” by Lew Sichelman (Oct. 7): The affordability crisis underscores the need for more moderately priced housing in all regions of the state.

Manufactured housing communities are a vital part of California’s housing market, enabling working men and women, families and seniors the opportunity to own a quality, reasonably priced home. Nearly 675,000 Californians live in one of the 5,000 manufactured housing communities located throughout the state.

Manufactured housing communities are affordable, attractive and continued community development should be part of any long-term solution to address California’s housing crisis.
