Sociologist to Speak on Fear in America

Sociologist Barry Glassner will speak next month at Cal Lutheran University on “The Culture of Fear: Why Americans Are Afraid of the Wrong Things.”
Glassner, chairman of the sociology department at USC, will explore fear as an emotional response and how Americans can redirect fear in their lives.
The lecture, scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 5 in Cal Lutheran’s Samuelson Chapel, 60 W. Olsen Road, is free.
