Taken for a Ride?

I recently rented a car; I accrue airline miles with each rental, supposedly an incentive to rent with the car agency, right? But sure enough, on my rental agreement is a 3-cent-per-day “recoupment of tax on frequent flier miles earned.” That should be part of the cost of doing business. It’s not the amount but the principle. But multiply that by the number of renters worldwide, and it adds up.
