Gunmen shot and killed a Roman Catholic nun active in human rights work in a Pacific port town, authorities said.
Yolanda Ceron directed a church human rights team in Tumaco, where she was killed Wednesday, according to Narino state Gov. Parmenio Cuellar. Tumaco is 325 miles southwest of Bogota, the Colombian capital.
Officials said they had no suspects, but Amnesty International accused the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, a right-wing paramilitary group that has targeted human rights workers.
