Boy, 16, Shot in Leg Accidentally, Police Say

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg in an apparent accident Friday, police said, but it wasn’t immediately known if he or his friend had been holding the gun.
The shooting on Coldwater Canyon Avenue occurred in the home of one of the boys at about 6 p.m., police said.
The wounded boy was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center. The friend was being questioned at the Van Nuys police station Friday night.
The boys’ names were withheld.
