Loose Tire Hits SUV on Freeway, Killing Driver

A driver died Saturday when a tire came off another vehicle and smashed into his Chevrolet Blazer’s windshield on an Anaheim freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
The driver was identified only as a 42-year-old man from Torrance. The crash occurred at 8:46 a.m. on the eastbound Riverside Freeway just east of Tustin Avenue. The pickup that lost its tire was westbound. The tire bounced over the divider and hit several vehicles.
