LaBonge’s Relatives, Friends Fined by Board

Fines of $11,500 were approved by the city Ethics Commission against 10 relatives and friends of Councilman Tom LaBonge for violating campaign contribution limits in funding a radio ad campaign in favor of LaBonge.
The friends and relatives, including five of LaBonge’s brothers, provided $1,000 each to the campaign, in violation of a $500 limit on individual contributions in council races.
