While I agree with most of what Lowell Cannon writes about “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” (Letters, Jan. 13), he goes too far with “ there’s not a single winking reference to modern tastes.” Can Cannon point out where J.R.R. Tolkien writes on the subject of “dwarf tossing”?
