Intertainer Gains Rights to Some MGM Movies

Intertainer of Culver City has signed a licensing deal with MGM Home Entertainment, enabling certain MGM movies to be offered in Intertainer’s video-on-demand service.

Intertainer, which delivers digital movies and other video through cable TV or secure Internet connections, also has the rights to selected films from Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., DreamWorks SKG, Artisan Entertainment and several television networks.

The MGM deal, which is expected to be formally announced this week, includes some new releases and a portion of MGM’s library of 4,100 older films. Intertainer’s service is available to high-speed Internet users in 35 cities and to customers of selected Adelphia and Comcast cable TV systems.
