Telemarketer Sentenced for Bilking Thousands

An Anaheim Hills telemarketer was sentenced Friday to more than 10 years in prison for bilking about 2,000 people out of nearly $1.3 million, authorities said.
Robert Flarida, 33, convicted last year on 24 counts of mail and wire fraud and 11 counts of money laundering, was also ordered to pay $1.3 million in restitution.
Flarida participated with five codefendants in a scheme to sell magazine subscriptions.
