Plenty of Menus for You and Your Sweetheart

There are lots of options for Valentine’s Day. Here are a few we scared up.

Saddle Peak Lodge (which is back to serving brunch on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) will feed you four courses in its hunting-lodge setting up in the hills behind Calabasas. Course choices include a duck confit salad, lobster salad, foie gras with brandied cherries, seared elk tenderloin, wild striped sea bass and warm strawberry tart. It’s $85 plus tax and tip. Cicada has booked the Art Deco and His Society Orchestra to play from 7:45 to 9 p.m. so you and your love can dance to swing and big band hits after eating a four-course meal. Course choices run from seared foie gras to a roasted beet tower to sauteed turbot or linguine with lobster. The tab is $85 plus tax and tip. Cicada, 617 S. Olive St., downtown L.A.; (213) 488-9488.

Lunaria will have the James Love Quartet playing through the evening. A four-course meal with many choices includes two appetizers, such as a smoked salmon tart or a cold tomato soup. Entrees include braised halibut, roasted rack of lamb and grilled mahi mahi. Choose from eight desserts, including apricot clafouti and espresso profiteroles. The price is $65 plus tax and tip. Nonya, a new Asian-inflected restaurant that opened in Pasadena where Boomerock used to be, offers its regular menu in addition to a $25 three-course menu on Valentine’s Day. It begins with a stuffed prawn. The entree is a duck breast in a soy-kumquat sauce with asparagus and parsnips. Dessert is meringue in strawberry sauce.
